Greyhole Terms
Landing Zone: the folder, defined in your smb.conf as a share path, that will be used to temporarily store new files added on your share. Greyhole will, as fast as it can, move the files from there into your storage pool. The Landing Zone will then contain symbolic links to the real file copies. More info about the Landing Zone.
Metadata file: a file holding information about the file copies in your pool, such as where are the different copies stored (in which storage directories), and which one is used as the target of the symbolic link (in the shared folder).
Metadata store: the .gh_metastore folders that Greyhole creates in each of your storage pool directories. This is where the metadata files will be stored.
Trash: the .gh_trash folders that Greyhole creates in each of your storage pool directories. More info about the trash. The trash was previously known as the attic.
