HackRF and rtl_tcp incompatability

Since rtl_tcp does not natively support the hackrf, I am finding that Raven is essentially inoperable when using the hackrf.  Is there a specific rtl-sdr build OR hackrf build that is intended to be used so that hackrf + Raven function properly?
