Continuum Stack Convergence Release Bar #30

Description

@flyingrobots

Contract

Continuum owns the cross-repository release bar for stack convergence across Continuum, Echo, Edict, jedit, Graft, WARP TTD, WARP DRIVE, Wesley, and the suffix-exchange substrate.

The release bar passes only when all direct gate issues pass with linked executable evidence and a pinned compatibility set.

Owner

Canonical repository: flyingrobots/continuum.

Continuum owns coordination truth. Each child gate remains owned by the repository that owns the underlying contract.

Executable check

TBD by Gate F: generate and verify continuum-convergence.lock plus all referenced proof packets.

Required evidence

  • Gate A protocol spine evidence.
  • Gate B Echo 1.0 release bar evidence.
  • Gate C Edict artifact admission evidence.
  • Gate D suffix exchange evidence.
  • Gate E jedit native operation evidence.
  • Gate F pinned compatibility and release integrity evidence.

Negative cases

  • No release from independently green repositories without a pinned compatibility set.
  • No shadow schema, vocabulary, or ownership map in sibling repos.
  • No gate closure without linked executable evidence.

Compatibility set

continuum-convergence.lock or successor release manifest, pinned to exact commits, protocol versions, artifact schemas, workflow runs, and proof-packet digests.

Pass rule

All direct gates are closed by evidence-bearing PRs, the compatibility manifest verifies, and the Project has no Target 1.0 Proof debt that blocks release.

    GP0.5 roadmap and gate-ledger update - 2026-06-27

No release should be cut from the PR #38 merge. The next unit is roadmap control: keep Project #15 honest, finish the current durability slice, and only then advance the stack gates.

    Project #15 repairs applied

    Item Before After Reason
echo#558 Proof: Missing Proof: Integration Closed durable runtime WAL gate; witness is the durable-runtime-wal integration slice.
echo#579 Proof: Missing Proof: Release Closed durability release-test slice.
echo#580 Proof: Missing Proof: Conformance Closed documentation truth/conformance guard.
echo#581 Proof: Missing Proof: Release Closed umbrella issue closure audit.
edict#11 Proof: Missing, Slice: Needs decomposition Proof: Conformance, Slice: M Closed Edict artifact admission contract gate.
git-warp#663 Proof: Missing, Slice: Needs decomposition Proof: Network, Slice: M Closed suffix-exchange implementation gate on the git-warp side.
echo#559 / echo#601 Goalpost: GP2 Goalpost: GP1 Stack goalposts treat Echo durability as GP1 even when Echo-local issue titles use later durability numbering.

Current Target 1.0 project shape after repair:

    Metric Count
    Total Target 1.0 rows 54
    Done 16
    In progress 2
    Todo 36
    Proof: Missing 26
    Slice: Needs decomposition 7

    Active slice

The only active implementation slice should remain Echo durability:

    Active item State Gate meaning
echo#559 In Progress, Proof: Unit, Goalpost: GP1 WAL projection fact types for the durability substrate.
echo#601 In Progress, Proof: Unit, Goalpost: GP1 PR for echo#559; checks and CodeRabbit are green, review is still required.

Do not start Gate A/B/C/D/F implementation as the active train until the current durability slice is reviewed, merged, and the next durability dependency is selected deliberately.

    Gate order

Order Gate Next action Exit condition
GP0.5 Gate-ledger control Keep Project #15 fields aligned with issue/PR evidence. Closed work has non-missing proof, gate containers have clear child slices or an explicit evidence-container role.
GP1 Durable Echo causal history Finish echo#559 / echo#601, then select the next WAL/WSC durability slice. Durable causal history has executable WAL/WSC evidence sufficient for protocol and exchange gates.
GP2 Continuum Protocol Spine Work continuum#31 and echo#585 after the durability substrate is ready. Participant/profile vocabulary, conformance posture, receipt/obstruction vocabulary, discovery shape, and report fixtures are tied to exact commits.
GP3 Networked suffix exchange Work continuum#33 and echo#591, using git-warp#663 as the git-warp-side evidence. Echo and git-warp exchange witnessed causal suffixes over a real network boundary, including negative/resume cases.
GP4 Edict artifact pipeline Treat edict#11 as repo-side admission evidence; continue through echo#583 for native invocation. Echo admits and invokes exact Edict artifacts with deterministic receipts and negative authority/replay fixtures.
GP5 Native jedit-on-Edict proof Work jedit#143 and echo#589 only after the Edict invocation path is real. Designated jedit operations compile through Edict, admit into Echo, and execute without the bespoke direct path.
GP6 Cross-repo release integrity Work continuum#32, echo#588, and echo#586 last. A pinned compatibility set verifies exact commits, proof packets, clean-room build, package/docs checks, and negative release cases.

    Remaining control debt

The remaining Proof: Missing rows are mostly open work and should stay missing until evidence exists. The remaining Needs decomposition rows are open gate containers and should be resolved by either child slices or an explicit note that the issue is intentionally an evidence container rather than a PR-sized slice.
