Analyzing… never finishes; analysis-based features not working; reinstalling plugins required #7544

Steps to Reproduce

Look at "Analyzing…"

image

Notice that it never finishes.

Try to do anything requiring the language server or analyzer (eg "Go To Definition"). Notice that it doesn't work.

Try this in multiple projects. Same thing.

Restart IntelliJ. The Flutter plugin has always required me to restart every hour or so to fix this problem in the past (for years now!). But this time, restarting doesn't help either.

Try to help! In the Dart Analysis tab, click the cog menu thing, choose "View Analyzer Diagnostics". Notice that this also does nothing.

Try the "Problems" tab. All blank.

Uninstall all Flutter/Dart plugins. Restart. Install Dart + Flutter plugins. Restart.

Apparently working now. Looking forward to restarting every hour as usual.

General observation: this plugin has never worked properly. I strongly prefer IntelliJ to VSCode, but I may have to switch.

Please, either support this thing or stop pretending.
