@aleatham, I'm quite elated about your PR. I wanna evolve this project to addresses various problems faced by first-time contributors. I'd love to learn about your journey in open source community, the problems, pain points you had etc. |
Roshan,
Your tutorial was really straight forward. I work on private git repos at
work so I have some experience with git commands and workflow. However, I
am still shy about contributing to open-source projects. Your project helps
to break the ice and opened my eyes to how easy it is to simply fork
someone's repo and make a PR.
The ending of the tutorial was a little bit confusing for me. It was
unclear if I had to followup after you accepted the merge or if that was
just a step to get my local repo up to date with your remote master branch.
Thanks for the experience,
Austin

Could you explain how you felt when you went through the tutorial, made a
PR and learned that I merged it?

@aleatham, you don't have to follow up after submitting PR. That part is for people who wants to continue contributing to projects. I'll urge you to continue contributing to open source projects. We also have a slack team to help/mentor people trying to contribute to open source projects. |
@Roshanjossey Ah, thank you for the explanation, I just completed the ending part of the tutorial. This was very helpful, and I will continue to use it as a reference for future projects till I get the hang of it. Also, thank you for the resource, I will check it out when I get time or if I have questions. |
@aleatham, I’d urge you to continue contributing to other open source projects. |
I most certainly will continue contributing to open source projects, this is only the beginning :). |
