@mbdiener, I'm quite elated about your PR. I wanna evolve this project to addresses various problems faced by first-time contributors. I'd love to learn about your journey in open source community, the problems, pain points you had etc.
Could you explain how you felt when you went through the tutorial, made a PR and learned that I merged it?

@Roshanjossey I'm pretty much a newbie to GitHub and open source, although I've known about both for some time. I am probably a bit unique in the community in that I am a retired technical manager learning about all things web front end and back end, including open source, just for "fun".
I first came across this project via a Medium article written by Brandon Morelli of Codeburst.io. Since I had taken a short GIT course on one of the online learning platforms, I wanted to learn more by actually doing. I read your article/project, downloaded Git for Windows (like using bash much more than the GUI) and tried to follow your directions. They were very well written but I need to go back and review exactly what the commands were doing since I am new to this and have only a basic understanding.
Thanks again for doing this for the newbies of the community.
