Can't import package in Swift Playgrounds

Steps to reproduce:

Trying to import https://github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk.git in Swift Playgrounds as a Swift Package doesn't let me select any version or install it

@rix501 Thanks for the report. It turns out that Swift Playgrounds do not currently support Swift Packages with Objective C implementations. We are following up with Apple on this. Feel free to do so as well to help them understand the importance of the requirement.

Could it be worth exploring if Playgrounds can consume an xcframework? That could be a workaround I guess.

@mortenbekditlevsen We had the same thought, but weren't able to get xcframeworks to work either. It looks like only pure Swift source packages are supported.

Good to know, but sorry that it doesn't work. Perhaps it will in later releases. I'll make sure to file a feedback about it.
Otherwise the only solution is the complete rewrite in Swift! 😁
My own RTDB swift conversion efforts are not dropped, but I've been busy with other things lately.

Looks like Apple still didn't address this issue as of yet.
Did anyone figure out a workaround if anything? I want to import rive-ios runtime in Playgrounds.
