Feature: State visibility for toolbar toggles without icons

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

Togglable toolbar items that do not (yet) have a dedicated icon currently lack visual feedback as to whether they are on or off.

For example, the Hide items and Show dot files are both enabled in this screenshot:

Suggestions

• Underline the label when enabled.
  Subtle and doesn't compete with the rest of the UI.
• Add a background "box".
  Better aligned with the visual styling of other elements:
  
• Add a toggle.
  RISKY because it will take up more space.

Requirements

• Add some kind of visual indication of togglable toolbar item's states.
• Ensure this doesn't interfere with the visual implementation of items with icons.
