@jhughesbiot I've configured the switch module for both the AT x230 and the Cisco 9300 switch, but so far I haven't been able to make them work.

The attached files are the activate.log outputs from the test communication with the switch.

For both the AT switch there seem to be some problems with the communication timing out.

Can you please look into this and give me a hint at where to look in the Java code to try and make them work?

As a general note, it would be useful if in the summary the "pass" result could give evidence to confirm why the test passes (for instance the relevant line in the test result).

Another important thing to add to the test is a readme.md in the test folder (similar for instance to this one for the discovery module, where the switch tests are described. It should also include important information to configure the test, for instance the passwords used to set up the switch (manager/friend and admin/password). Can you please do it? Thanks!

On a developer's note, it would be good, I think, to figure out what was necessary to enable this testing using the bin/test_module capability, so that it didn't need to run through DAQ proper all the time. I'm expecting some "problems" with it because the switch setup requires additional configuration. However, I'd be willing to work with somebody on resolving that... but I'm not in a good position to try it out myself. So, if somebody wanted to send along the result of "bin/test_module switch" I'd work with that -- but, I'd recommend doing it in another issue/thread so as not to pollute this one. I'll kick up another email thread about it now.

As a general note, it would be useful if in the summary the "pass" result could give evidence to confirm why the test passes (for instance the relevant line in the test result). Another important thing to add to the test is a readme.md in the test folder (similar for instance to this one <https://github.com/faucetsdn/daq/blob/master/subset/pentests/readme.md> for the discovery module, where the switch tests are described.
