I want to change where index is being bundled. Right now the hello world app builds from index.android.js. How do I get it to build if I renamed index.android.js?

I know this is closed, but what if we want to change the path of the entry file?

new:
/src/index.android.js

Same thing -- the references to index.android are paths, not juts file names so grepping should point you in the right direction.

I need to change path of index.android.js, By default it access the file from root of project created (created by react native), I want to put it in asset folder of android structure.

@ide I tried to change all the variables shown in the git grep index.android, but it's still not working.

I tried renaming the file and the strings to indexx.android.js, but the npm start is still looking for index.android.js.

Perhaps you can provide the patch file to show me how to change the entry file, let's say to src/index.android.js?

You just need to override getJSMainModuleName() method in your react activity and return the path as below:

protected String getJSMainModuleName() {
return "android/demo_app/index.android";
}

here android is project folder, demo_app is directory in which all js files are situated. You can give any path like this.

When I tried curl http://localhost:8081/index.android.bundle. It seems doing okay.

And I tried moving the index.android.js to src/index.android.js.

I tried restarting the npm start and curl the link again. Here's what it output.

Take a look at this, this is what you'll be overriding: https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/master/ReactAndroid/src/main/java/com/facebook/react/ReactActivity.java#L60. So basically you just need to change that to include your new path from the root of your project.
