It's a question whether this issue should be followed up in this project as it holds the default webpack configurations or in another place?

The method is needed for example when using aws4 to sign a request.

Please file this in webpack and ask them to update the Node polyfill they're using.
When they update it, we'll get it automatically when we update webpack 😛
