Network address not detected on Ubuntu

My app runs by default on http://localhost:3000/.

I can configure the port by doing: PORT=8000 npm start. What's the variable name to update localhost to something accessible from another computer, like 0.0.0.0?

Thanks. I actually realized my app is accessible from outside with my computer's hostname even when the HOST is localhost.

By the way, where does it tell me an IP address? npm run start just gives me this message:

Compiled successfully!

You can now view econplayground.js in the browser.

  http://localhost:3000/

Note that the development build is not optimized.
To create a production build, use yarn build.

Hmm, that's really odd -- it should show you! It may not be able to deduce your address configuration.

Can you please open Node and paste the response of os.networkInterfaces() here?

btw, I see now that this script defaults to 0.0.0.0 as HOST, so I see now why I can access this from outside. I wonder why it's displaying as localhost for me. https://github.com/facebookincubator/create-react-app/blob/master/packages/react-scripts/scripts/start.js#L54

We show localhost because 0.0.0.0 is confusing to a lot of people, but we couldn't detect a network IP to show that, so we assumed it doesn't exist.
