Thanks for the report, what's the neomacs version?
Could you compre the search result with gnu/emacs?

I can reproduce it with the latest Git commit.

Emacs returns the expected list of candidates. It looks like Neomacs is searching relative to the directory from which it was started, rather than the project root.
