Trace a call without sending the transaction

Would be great if there was an API that allowed tracing transactions while they are still pending, or one that allowed tracing an arbitrary transaction against the latest block like Parity does https://wiki.parity.io/JSONRPC-trace-module#trace_call

Is this something on the roadmap?
