Overview

This tracker is for the third frames-devnet-0 test release.

EIP-8141 frame transactions on top of the glamsterdam-devnet-8 stack, updated to the current spec tip and rebased onto the current forks/amsterdam. The release fills the full suite at Bogota, now including frame-transaction variants of the convertible legacy state tests.

Scope

EIP Updates

EIP-8141 update, spec frozen at ethereum/EIPs@b75cbe6 (2026-09-01), previously 3ceef8d (v0.1.0).

• Block execution gas accounted before storage refunds per EIP-7778, with the payer fee and receipt staying post-refund and the calldata floor applied to each total independently (EIPs#12226): fix(eip-8141): account block execution gas before refund #3443
• Redundant check of a frame's state gas limit removed (EIPs#12276), spec pin bumped in feat(tests): wrap earlier transaction types into frames where possible #3500, no EELS change.

New Test Cases

• Storage-refund settlement across the three calldata-floor orderings: fix(eip-8141): account block execution gas before refund #3443
• Frame-transaction spent gas pinned across a refill rollback, batch unroll and frame revert: feat(tests): pin frame-tx spent gas across a refill rollback #3487
• Frame-transaction variants of the convertible legacy state tests (VERIFY + SENDER rewrite, _frame_tx labeled fixture formats, ~4.4k cases at Bogota): feat(tests): wrap earlier transaction types into frames where possible #3500

Hive Mappers

• Nethermind TYPE_6_* frame-transaction rejection reasons mapped for consume: fix(client-clis): map frame transaction rejections in the Nethermind mapper #3467

Status

• All relevant PRs merged to eips/amsterdam/eip-8141 or devnets/frames/0.
• devnets/frames/0 updated to the eips/amsterdam/eip-8141 tip.
• Fixtures generated and released: gh workflow run release_fixtures.yaml --repo ethereum/execution-specs --ref devnets/frames/0 -f feature=frames-devnet -f version=v0.2.0 -f branch=devnets/frames/0
• hive-tests workflows bumped to the new fixtures tag.
• Linked the test fixture release tag within the issue and closed it.
