Blackscreen after update to Android 10 Q :(

Hi Endy Rubbin,

First of thank you for creating AAstream I manage to tollerate traffic jams because of this.

I was using AAstream on my Samsung Galaxy s10+ running on Android 9. I was using AAmirror together with AAstream. I did this because AA stream was not rotating the screen when connecting and AA mirror did. Except AA mirror was giving me blackscreen and AAstream not (at that time). So i was using AA mirror to rotate the screen with setting not to restore rotation on focus lost. After that i started up AAstream to get the mirrored screen. So all was well back then.

Yesterday I updated my phone to android 10 (rooted version) with Magisk and Odin. Since then AAstream is only giving me a black screen. When i use the touchscreen of my car i see my phone is responding to the gestures. Except the view is missing. I hope you can help me reslove the black screen issue. If you need any more information please let me know.

I experienced this as well, but on my phone I opened the app and saw a prompt for casting/screen mirroring, which I needed to allow. After that it worked no problems until I plugged it in again.

What phone are you using? I have exactly the same issues as @ravinrubin, but I get no prompt.

I have the galaxy s10 plus running on android 10. When I updated to android 10 I started getting these prompts. In the beginning it also didnt show screen on my head unit even though i accepted the promot. But after a few tries and some pations after accepting the prompt i was able to get a screen on my head unit. Met vriendelijke groet, Ravin Soebedar

Is anyone able to make a screen shot of this prompt? Or can you find this somewhere in the phone settings?

Hi, This is not a screen shot from my phone because im not at my car for the moment but the picture below show how it looks. In the picture the prompt.is in de center of the screen. I get this prompt when I run a screen recorder, but not when I run AAstream.

Maybe the version of Android doesn’t works on 10 I’m using Android 9

The problem that you have are the permission but don’t know why are not visible these settings.

I hope @endyrubbin can chime in, it seems the current version of Aastream does something wrong with requesting the permission since other apps are able to request (and use) the same permission.

Having this same issue, when checking the permission manager in android I can't find such a permission to enable for AA Stream either. I have root access, and granted root access to the app too.

samsung s10e, Android 10, run into blackscreen several times but today I finally saw the casting prompt mentioned above, and after confirming that the streaming goes as good old days.

Oneplus 6T - similar issue. AAstream launches (no prompt) and displays a black screen on vehicle display that responds to touch. I have not been able to get a prompt asking for screen share. What was the process @ravinrubin @undermark5 to get this prompt to pop up?
