This is to handle Active Authentication for digests which are supported by openssl (https://www.openssl.org/docs/manmaster/man3/EVP_DigestVerifyInit.html) and digests which are supported by ICAO https://www.icao.int/publications/documents/9303_p11_cons_en.pdf (references https://www.bsi.bund.de/EN/Publications/TechnicalGuidelines/TR03111/BSITR03111.html)
