Step 1
Place the files inside config and helpers into the corresponding folders of your CI application. Files:
- config/seo_config.php
- helpers/seo_helper.php
Step 2
- Open autoload.php inside of your config folder
- Add seo_helper to the autoload helper
Example:
$autoload['helper'] = array('seo_helper');Step 3
- Open up config/seo_config.php you copied earlier
- Change the title, description and image URL to anything you like. (Note: Description maximum 155 characters)
Example:
$config['seo_title'] = 'My website - Get freebies - Awesomeness';
$config['seo_desc'] = 'Something intesresting';
$config['seo_imgurl'] = 'http://something.com/something.jpg';It's very easy to use, just go to any view files of your application and include this line:
meta_tags();When your page is loaded, the meta tags will be injected automactically.
It is recommended that this line should be included inside the head section of your HTML document. Something like this:

Controlling which meta tags should be injected
Types of Meta Tags included:
- Description
- Og (Open graph)
- Robot
$e = array(

meta_tags($e, $title = '', $desc = '', $imgurl ='', $url = '');Just change the true to false to disable them. You can also customize the title, desc, image url and url for certain pages by changing the values of $title, $desc, $imgurl, $url.
NOTE: If title, desc, image url are left empty, it will use the default ones set inside config file.
- For URL, default will be your site base_url
- For robot, default will be index/follow. If set to false it will become noindex/nofollow
