My name is Alyssa Columbus, and I'm a member of the Spring 2018 Class of NASA Datanauts. Previously, I have worked as an information security analyst, data scientist, and machine learning researcher. My award-winning work has been featured by many organizations including Forbes, O’Reilly Media, Kaggle, and Microsoft’s Revolution Analytics blog. I hold a degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Irvine, and I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.

I am a strong proponent of reproducible methods, open source technologies, and diversity in tech. I am the founder of R-Ladies Irvine, and I'm a member of the MIT Technology Review Global Panel.

I love my work and enjoy each new challenge as it arises. Have a look at my portfolio and experience, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you think I can be of service to you.
