We all have a problem in our homeserver.

Notifications: we have three sessions open, one in Element X, one in Element desktop and one in Element Web. If we receive a message and read it from Element X, in the other two sessions (Element Web and Desktop) the red notification badge disappears. But if we do the opposite, i.e. read the message in Element Web and/or desktop, in Element X the red notification badge does not disappear. We are forced to disconnect from the Element X session and reconnect, to remove the notification badge.

Grey shield: this also happens to everyone. When we disconnect from the session and reconnect, while validating the session with the validation phrase, all messages exchanged in our encrypted rooms have the grey shield. Although we have all done the validation procedure between users, if we exit and re-enter, all previous messages have the grey shield. This happens in both element x, web, and desktop. Frustrating.

Refused invitations: some of us have received invitations to join certain rooms in other instances of the fediverse, refusing the invitation. Despite having declined the invitation, the message remained until the person who had received the invitation disconnected from the session and reconnected (again causing what is described in point 2). This happened in both desktop and X elements.

This is a bug with Element X not using the sync API unread counts. You would need to seek help from that project.

Please open an issue for this with logs, do not stack issues into one as they it becomes impossible to triage and ends up being closed as this will. Make sure to not ignore the issue template or your issue will once again be closed.
