Can't log in

Steps to reproduce

1. Where are you starting? What can you see?

• The login page of element (where you enter the username and password after clicking through all the relevant buttons).
• Enter username and password.
• See error message saying credentials are wrong.

Outcome

What did you expect?

Login to succeed and element will prompt be for the decryption key or verify with another device.

What happened instead?

It says my password is wrong.

Investigation

I didn't change my password and it was not incorrect.
I used the forgot password feature and put in the same password and element accepted the password change.
It still refused to let me login. This happens on both the web and desktop version of element.
Then I changed it again but excluded the extended ASCII character set and voila; it let me login.
I think some recent change is preventing me from using a password with those particular characters.
