Invites don't decorate spaces with a dot/badge

Steps to reproduce

Pre-condition: My People "space" did not have any decoration (neither an unread dot nor a badge count) before I started because I read all my conversations.

1. I receive an invite to a DM.
2. My People "space" in the space list still doesn't have any decorations.

Outcome

What did you expect?

The invite should decorate the relates spaces in the space list (in this case the People "space") since it's a new unhandled/unobserved event.

What happened instead?

The People "space" remained without any decoration.

Can you tell me more about the "Defect" label here?

Did this used to work, and is now broken... Or, was this how it was designed but never 'made it'?

Otherwise I think we'll move this to Discussions and wrap it into the current design work on Spaces, room list, IA and general navigation as it would fit perfectly with that research :)

FWIW this has caused me to miss invites from coworkers until I open a different application. This is rather confusing. I've seen it a few times recently -- is there anything I can check to help debug this if it occurs again?
