Don't send notifications if I'm active on another device

What would you like to do?

I have quite a few rooms with "noisy" notifications on. Most of the time, I'm working on Element Desktop, and I read the messages corresponding to those important notifications here.

I would like Element iOS to hold notifications if I'm active on another device so I'm not pinged on both devices.

Why would you like to do it?

If I'm active on my desktop, getting the notifications both on my desktop and my phone/watch is pretty distracting. This is especially disturbing if I have already read the corresponding message on my desktop.

How would you like to achieve it?

I'm not really sure what are Element and Matrix capabilities when it comes to signalling you are active on another device

Have you considered any alternatives?

Unfortunately, muting Element on my phone is the workaround I rely on

i also have this issue - also notifications stay active on the phone / other devices when already read on the desktop. was wondering if this is a new situation, because i could swear, this is happening just with one of the most recent updates.

If desktop is active and read, it would be great to have the phone, ipad, watch muted / updated that is is already read. also the other ways round.

if that is even possible - maybe i had one of the devices muted before ... but i think this was not the case.
