Describe the issue
Today we have a suite of tests in the waterfall component that rely on large snapshot strings. It would be nice to reduce the size of these strings, or come up with an alternative that makes them easier to track when changes force a diff in the snapshots.

This issue is a reminder that we need to address these particular tests, but this is also an ongoing initiative across our Kibana codebase.
