When #174785 is merged, it will be possible to add a column to the indices list via the extensions service. For those columns, there isn't currently possible to also specify a sorting function. A workaround for now will have to be a change in the sorting table function in this file. This is not a preferred solution because the code for any additional columns should be located in the plugin that adds the column via the extension service. We need to change how sorting is configured in the indices table to make it extendable when adding a column.
