Investigate slow package installs

There've been reports of slow installs on kibana 6.2+. So far I haven't been able to reproduce on rhel7 and centos7 vm's but other users have.

Slow is roughly hanging for 1 hour+ on the install step. It should be taking less than a few minutes.

Same issue with Debian 9, with apt or with the .deb

@blogmotion can you share any info on the machine's hardware? Memory, cpu? Does the install eventually go through or are you forced to cancel?

Here is the result, as you can see it's a HDD issue. Progression hangs at 16% (atop screen) :

CTRL+C is not working. I have to CTRL+Z and then killall apt.
It's a virtualbox machine, fresh install with Debian 9 x64 (netinstall)

I was facing the same issue. Learned that apt install seems to have a timeout, while apt-get install waits until completion. Kibana just took A HELL of time for unpacking. Just wait for it to complete while using apt-get over apt

This is still a problem for me with 7.8.1 on Debian 10.5.

I have the same problem with 7.9.1 on Ubuntu 18.04.....
