Date histogram just repeats the year on x-axis weirdly.

Original install method (e.g. download page, yum, from source, etc.): from staging

Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior: When I change time interval to yearly on date histogram - years just get repeated. I am not sure how it is supposed to look. But logging it here after discussing with Matt. I have logstash data from loading sample data into Kibana tutorial.

This seems to be occurring in visualize as well in both 6.6.1 and 7.0.0-beta1

Do we have any plans to address this in the near term? And are there suggested workarounds?
