Support for `--global`

Beyond committed project,s Rules, would it be possible to have the same features, but globally?

So, we could curate some personal preferences that would be applied to any new project without having to copy similar instructions for each project.

Thank you for your issue. Currently Rulesync doesn't support the global configs. But I'm considering if implementing it.

It enable integrating global or user scope settings.

That would be amazing.

It would be amazing if we could have a folder, anywhere, like a "company global instructions", which is a git repo, etc, like:

cd ~/work/company-ai-instructions
npx rulesync generate --targets "*" --features "*"  --global 

It doesn't need to be "corporate", it could be my personal dotfiles as well.

cd ~/personal/dotfiles/instructions
npx rulesync generate --targets "*" --features "*"  --global

About your request, does it mean you can decide the global instructions dir path freely simply?
Implementing the single free path global config dir looks possible, however using multiple global instructions sets properly is difficult because ~/.claude, ~/.codex and etc are fixed.

You are right, the ~/.claude, ~/.codex, and ~/.gemini are static.

I was just mentioning the "source" where we'll store the rules and use git to keep track of changes.

If so, you may use global mode rulesync with following your preferences.

You can run rulesync generate --experimental-global
