In Dark mode, when opening anything in a new tab, first a white screen flashes

Steps to reproduce

1. Ensure your device is in Dark mode ("dark appearance").
2. Open a new tab.
3. Type something in the address bar, e.g. example
4. Note how everything is in dark mode properly.
5. Confirm the search by hitting "Open".
6. For a bit, white background is shown on the page.
7. Then, dark mode interface is again shown correctly.

Expected behavior

In step 6, I would expect to not see the white background. This could possibly be a website thing rather than browser thing, however I noticed that if you do this when the tab is not brand new (e.g. after step 2, navigate to example.org and then continue from step 3), the white screen is not shown and everything stays in dark mode properly.

Possibly, this is not specific to searching on DDG, but opening anything in a newly opened tab, which first shows as white. I'll update the issue title.
