Description
I drag applications into the windows taskbar to create a shortcut. They launch without issues through retrobar.
If I drag applications into only retrobar's taskbar to create a shortcut, on rare occasions, they don't load their config files.
I thought windows might accidentally be creating a copy of the executable when I dragged files to retrobar. But they were all shortcuts at
C:\Users\ username \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
Even if I launched direct from this above folder, the problematic apps would not load fully. They were tested to also run as admin, so it did not seem to be a permissions issue. If they needed config files to run, instead of loading anything from the installation folder, default new ones would sometimes be automatically created within the above UserPinned/Taskbar directory itself.
This is only an issue for retrobar created drag and drop shortcuts, and it is rare. Problem shortcuts created through retrobar drag and drop would be smaller in size. The solution is obviously to use the 'pin to taskbar' option instead of drag and drop. Or create shortcuts only through windows, and cut and paste them to the above directory, overwriting the retrobar ones. Or just drag and drop to windows own taskbar.
The correct shortcuts would then show in retrobar upon a refresh and load correctly. Perhaps retrobar could do with a refresh shortcuts option, if there isn't a shortcut button already. Although even without retrobar, using any version of windows, taskbar shortcuts didn't always sync that well with what showed in the taskbar shortcut directory over time.
