Tab completion does not fully work for `dotnet workload`

When I type dotnet workload s<TAB> it shows me only

sdk    sln    store

and not the most important search option

dotnet workload command is defined in dotnet\sdk, so moving there

I can't repro this on .NET SDK 6.0.301, can you provide some more details about what version of the SDK you're using?

7.0.100-preview.6.22316.8

and no workloads installed

I installed 7.0.0-preview.6.22311.2 and couldn't reproduce this on Windows. Can you update and try again? Also, what OS and shell are you on?

I'm running dotnet on macOS

I'm working on acquiring macOS hardware to test - in the meantime can you run and report the output of the following command:

dotnet complete "dotnet workload s"

That's what powers the dotnet CLI tab-completion, and should faithfully reproduce the error. If this reports back useful data, then I'd begin looking at the completion registration between your shell and the dotnet command.
