the tooling has issue here because there is no space before |}.

FS0010: Unexpected symbol '}' in expression

the workaround:

let a = {|a=1<m> |}

I report the issue because it is a bit inconsistent, it works when no unit of measure is involved, and it works for a nominal record type.

maybe the compiler can accept the code or, tells me that the closing of the anonymous record expression needs to be one space appart in this case.

This also affects any other construct that ends in >, like

1.  {|a=typeof<int>|}

2.  {|a=typedefof<_ option>|}

3.  let f<'T> = {|a=nameof<'T>|}

4.  {|a=id<int>|}

5.  {|a = <@ 3 @>|}

For (5), note that, separately, lhs =<@ expr @> (with no space between = and the initial <) will fail to parse in any context, since =<@ is (and must be, in many contexts) parsed as in infix operator:

let (=<@) = (@)
let (@>=) = (@)

[1..2] =<@ [3..4] @>= [5..6] // This is valid.
