No details on CancellationToken

There's no explanation here of what happens when the CancellationToken is Cancelled.

Does it throw a specific exception? If it throws an OperationCancelledException, that's not specified in the documentation.

I've also seen some users asking for help because the CancellationToken doesn't do anything in some circumstances.
