Tiles appear on incorrect monitor when moving window with mouse

Hey, thank you for sharing this. I noticed this bug may appear when switching monitors in some particular situations and setups. Indeed, normally when a monitor gets added or removed everything works smooth. To my experience disabling and enabling Tiling Shell doesn't fix the problem and I assumed it is a GNOME shell bug. Indeed, after a reboot the bug is no longer there.

Yeah, unfortunately GNOME + multi-monitor is a mess on laptops :C

I am experiencing something similar. I'm guessing it's the same bug?

If I drag a window to another monitor, it will highlight the wrong monitor. In my case the window doesn't fill the whole screen, it will snap to a side or a corner. But it will always be the wrong monitor.

I'm hoping this will be fixed with the fix for this bug: #197 🤞

One other thing in case it's helpful: I don't notice this bug at all in X11, only in Wayland.

I have fractional scaling enabled on one of the monitors but not the other.

It seems to fix this bug. So maybe that means this is a duplicate of #197 ?

Nevermind, after disabling and re-enabling one of the screens, the bug is back. So this must be different from #197.

I run into this frequently, too. This is a Fedora 41 / Gnome 47 / Wayland setup with no fractional scaling. Both monitors are at 100%. For some reason, my computer sometimes forgets how I set up my monitors and flips them around. After putting them back in the correct layout, Tiling Shell will not pick up on that change. And I get pretty much what @domferr deescribes, with the only difference being that Disabling and re-enabling Tiling Shell will fix my issue (seen from ca. 0:30 in that video).

The workaround of disabling and re-enabling the extension is working for me too.

@domferr Are there any logs that we can collect to help troubleshoot this issue? Thanks!
