505 KB -> 107 KB via 256-color adaptive-palette quantization (the image is a dark terminal UI - the palette covers it losslessly to the eye; the soft window shadow's alpha survives). Largest blob in the repo; every clone carried it. No history rewrite - the old blob stays in pack history, this just stops the bleeding going forward.

screenshot.png: 505 KB → 107 KB (−79%) via 256-color adaptive-palette quantization. The image is a dark terminal UI — 256 colors cover it losslessly to the eye (text edges stay crisp, the soft window-shadow alpha survives; visually inspected at full size). It was the largest blob in the repo, carried by every clone.
No history rewrite — the old blob stays in pack history; this just stops the bleeding going forward.
