Navigation bar not hiding

Navigation bar is active even after the alert is presented. Also it does not get blurred nor shadowed. Can you please tell how to show it above the navigation bar?

Instead of that, you could simply the navigation controller, i.e. instead of rootViewController use self.navigationController.
