Consider providing Python 3.14t (i.e., free-threading or nogil) #1052

Description

@hpkfft

This can be built by specifying --disable-gil to configure.
See also: https://docs.python.org/3.14/whatsnew/3.14.html#free-threaded-mode

As a quick sanity check, the following should work:

>>> import sys
>>> sys._is_gil_enabled()
False

    I'm sorry, but I don't understand what makes this request different from #947 since they're both very much about nogil? JIT is a side-thread over there that has some of the same hiccups as nogil does, but they're also related in that compatibility between the two isn't a given yet.

    (I'm going to close this for now in favor of #947 but I'm OK with re-opening if there's a compelling reason to have two threads tracking this same conversation that I'm just not seeing right now. ❤️)

    Sounds good.
    My thought was that, given the soon-to-be released Python 3.14, it would be nice to have a container for free-threaded 3.14t, also known as nogil. And, if 3.14t is made available, there's much less use for 3.13t.
