Connect WSL2 with openconnect and vpn-slice, to use windows apps like a pro

I need to implement vpn-slice for some windows clients but can't install it via pip due to various errors.
I thought I can use openconnect in wsl2 and use vpn-slice with it: all fine for wsl, it connects and the tunnel is up.
However windows is like ignoring it all, it is connected to the internet like no VPN was up.

Do you have any suggestion ?

I know very little about WSL, and Microsoft's habit of trumpeting Linux compatibility features, botching them, not documenting them, and wasting incredible amounts of time spent by POSIX developers trying to port software to Windows does not motivate me to learn much more.

I'm of the opinion that the most-widely-usable, least-bad way to do it would be to rewrite vpn-slice in JavaScript based on vpnc-script-win.js.
