git-lfs updates create modified files

As shown by gut status (only some repos included in the list below):

What I did:

• installed newest gut (with the git-lfs additions, ie 0.8.0)
• ran gut pull

After that the files were modified. According to Tower, the

Diff contains only whitespace changes.

So what gives? Should I reclone? Is there anything to fix in the gut code?

I removed and re-cloned the corpus-deu-orig repo listed above, and the list of modified files was reduced from six to five. But still five modified files, and still only whitespace changes.

Unable to reproduce.

Here were my steps:

1. Clone the repos mentioned above with gut clone -o giellalt -r "corpus-(deu|eng|fin|fit|fkv|nob)-orig"
2. gut status -a
3. gut pull -a
4. gut status -a

Both invocations of gut status gave the the same result, with no surprise whitespace changes:

This makes me think your git settings or git lfs version are different than mine.

My lfs version is:
git-lfs/3.7.1 (GitHub; darwin arm64; go 1.25.3)

@snomos can you check git lfs version and also see if you have any settings that might be affecting this in your .gitconfig? This command will show things that might affect it (for me nothing prints when I run this, meaning I have the default for these settings):

git config --list | grep -E "(autocrlf|eol|safecrlf|whitespace)"

@snomos any other details I should be aware of with your setup? Do you have any of the files open in a text editor or otherwise? I assume you're running this on a Mac.

returns nothing. No files open, I have not touched any of the files marked as changed. Yes, I am running this on a Mac.
