Oh interesting. Have you got or are you able to throw together a quick note on how to drop down and use nodemailer config directly within the mailservice? We can get it documented! I also thought it wasn't possible.

Our mailService.send function takes this nodemailer config object so no real "dropping down" required. According to the docs a construction like this should work in extensions/core, i've yet to actually test it tho

const mailService = new MailService({ schema, accountability, knex });

await mailService.send({
  to: 'tim@directus.io',
  subject: 'test attachment',
  attachments: [
    {   // utf-8 string as an attachment
      filename: 'text1.txt',
      content: 'hello world!'
    },
    // or any of the other options here https://nodemailer.com/message/attachments/
  ]
});

Hi there,That would be awesome if attaching documents like this would be possible. Also if possible as binary form.
