This fixes an issue encountered when using the library in Node.JS.
It's the same changes as applied to the digitalbazaar json.ld library: digitalbazaar@9f61795
I'm not sure if this is the best way to fix it, as there's a lot of other changes in that repo not here, but this at least fixes the issues we're currently facing.
