What exactly is yStartNewPage ?

I understand yStart but I don't understand what the yStartNewPage parameter is supposed to do.

yStart is the current page, yStartNewPage is where new pages should start (minus top margin).

        tableContentStream.close();
        this.yStart = yStartNewPage - pageTopMargin;
        this.currentPage = createNewPage();
        this.tableContentStream = createPdPageContentStream();
    }
