How to do and save trimming?

I did a trim at the right frame, but I cannot see the verticle line or any marker that would separate the left and right videos, so there is no way to select which side I want to keep or delete. In any case, I did an export to see the result of trimming, but the new video didn't differ from the original one. I'm clueless. It would be great if someone could point me to a user manual.

I have almost the same problem
I know how to trim a video.

1. move to the start position for the trimming
2. click on the image button (right lower corner)
3. click on "trim"
4. go to the end position and click the checkmark symbol, that just appeared (also right lower corner)

However, I don't know how to export the trimmed video. When I do export it, then the full video is exported, instead of the trimmed one.

Has someone an idea how to export only the trimmed video?

actually, I've found out the trimmed video was saved (not the full video), but somehow the beginning was not trimmed (I removed about 30 sec.). These 30 sec., which were supposed to be trimmed, but were removed at the end of the trimmed video (which I did want to happen).
So the end result was that I had 30 sec. too much video (at the beginning) and about 30 sec. were removed to much at the end of the video.
So the trimming process didnn't work well in my case.
