We were getting strange errors due to out of storage, so maybe splitting will help?

I know we're duplicating lines from
scripts/lintandscripts/test, but personally I find adding flags to scripts to turn on/off behavior a bit awkward. I prefer to just be explicit in the CI steps. It's not a hill I'll die on, though, so if folks would prefer to just add flags to the scripts I'm happy to do that too.
