Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Sometimes I want to see not only backlinks to a particular note but also backlinks to its descendants in the hierarchy.
So that when I look at dendron note I can also see mentions of dendron.features or dendron.features.cool-feature.

Mostly I want to see backlinks that come from outside the current note and its descendants, so that links between any notes under dendron don't clutter up the list. But when other parts of knowledge base link to the note's children then that's interesting to see.

An example where this is useful:

  • Let's say I have a fat note with some header+content sections.
  • I split sections off into child notes.
  • I edit links elsewhere to point to relevant child notes instead of fat note headers.

But by doing this I lose backlinks that used to point to my fat note but now point to its children. Extended backlinks would give me back the ability to see any mentions of my note's topic and its subtopics.

I think this is a cool way to leverage Dendron's hierarchical notes structure. Not easily replicable in alternative apps that reject hierarchies =).

Describe the solution you'd like

There could be a toggle in backlinks panel to switch between normal and extended mode.

Love this idea and it's definitely something that uniquely leverages Dendron's hierarchies. This is going to be a lot easier to implement once we finish our LSP migration (most of the advanced features in the backlog are currently blocked by that)
