Recommended way to include a custom system folder?

When generating a new system using the System Builder in a separate folder (so not merging them in .opencode), what is the recommended way to make the contents of that folder accessible to opencode?

Using export seems to be the only way, according to the documentation https://opencode.ai/docs/config/#custom-directory

The reason I'm asking is that I want this custom system to be available only within a specific project folder, not globally.

I am late to respond here, just been a busy few weeks so apologises for that.

I built this in mind to make a better workflow management system for the use, for your case, easiest would be to add a section for the system builder to build an opencode.json which can have this in for you for your project.

Personally I don't use any global configs because I am trying to build my system for different code bases and the global files influence this.. EVEN Claude.md files are pulled in.

So I just have a local .opencode folder in my repos which pulls in these rules and uses them.

I got a video planned in a couple of days on how to build a full application with deployment and I will cover my AI tooling setup and install for this repo & how I use it and tweak it slightly for each project.
