Currently arduino IDE 2.x uses virtual scroll. That means we can't select the whole exception to copy.
Would it be possible for the plugin to read serial monitor panel itself?

Hi, thanks for using the decoder and for the request.

Right now it’s not possible to read data directly from the Arduino IDE’s Serial Monitor UI. It uses virtual scrolling and doesn’t expose the full output to extensions. That’s why you can only copy what’s visible.

Your idea about letting the decoder “listen” to the monitor and auto-capture the next crash is interesting. There’s even an external tool doing something similar: https://github.com/holgerlembke/ESPEDfGK. I actually planned to add this feature to the decoder, but it first needs a better extension API.

I’m also working on a new implementation that fixes most of the monitor issues (copy all, ANSI colors, detachable window, etc.) and can run the existing extensions for the Arduino IDE 2.x: #50
