There are a number of software packages not mentioned as well as recent name changes to ones listed. Most can be found right here on GH. It may also be worth mentioning other packages such downloaders, media managers, portal interfaces and maintenance/administration tools that can fill in the back-end of a media server, especially Linux and/or remote server(s). For Plex users almost everything is back-end besides logging or monitoring wares however can easily handle the entire front-end role by itself. Portal software will provide all the various programs a single place to make a unified interface that everything can be accessed by.
