VertX might be super helpful to push FSCrawler to a better implementation.
We can imagine starting multiple Verticles for different use cases like FS Crawling, Tika parsing, REST Server, ... and be able to manage it more easily like starting more Tika parser threads, having a monitoring end point, ...
