SnipScreen is a lightweight and privacy-focused Chrome extension for capturing, editing, and sharing screenshots directly in your browser. It provides a clean, modern editor with essential tools to help you create the perfect capture.'

Since this extension is not available on the Chrome Web Store, you need to load it manually in "Developer mode." The process is simple and the same for all operating systems.
- You must have Google Chrome installed.

Download the Extension Files
- Click the green
<> Codebutton on the GitHub repository page. - Select Download ZIP.
- Find the downloaded ZIP file (e.g.,
crsvt-snipscreen-main.zip) and unzip it. You should now have a folder namedcrsvt-snipscreen-mainor similar.

Open Chrome Extensions Page
- Open Google Chrome.
- Navigate to
chrome://extensionsby typing it into your address bar and pressing Enter.

Enable Developer Mode
- In the top-right corner of the Extensions page, find the Developer mode toggle and turn it on.

Load the Extension
- With Developer mode enabled, you will see three new buttons appear. Click on Load unpacked.
- An "Open folder" dialog will appear. Navigate to the folder you unzipped in Step 1.
- Select the entire
crsvt-snipscreenfolder (the one that directly containsmanifest.jsonandbackground.js) and click Select Folder.

Confirm Installation
- The SnipScreen extension will now appear in your list of extensions.

Pin for Easy Access (Recommended)
- Click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) in your Chrome toolbar.
- Find "SnipScreen" in the list and click the pin icon next to it. This will keep the SnipScreen icon visible in your toolbar for easy access.
That's it! The extension is now installed and ready to use.
- Navigate to the web page you want to capture.
- Click the SnipScreen icon in your Chrome toolbar.
- A new tab will open with the screenshot loaded in the editor.
- Use the toolbar tools (Crop, Annotate) to edit your image.
- Click the Copy icon to copy it to your clipboard or the Save icon to download it.
